Automatic Door Control Systems

Provide an overview of automatic door choices, options, applications and inform users and designers to reduce misapplications. We will also discuss ANSI/BHMA codes & concerns.

Learning objectives:
1.  Provide an overview of automatic door choices; codes, options, applications and planning protecting the general public, and provide daylight and views.
2.  Reduce misapplications between Low Energy Operators and High Energy Operators; Knowing code requirements and methods enabling accessibility.
3.  Discuss ANSI/BHMA codes, ADA law, Fire Codes, & concerns intended to prevent accidental injury among users, but provide sustainable design for social and economic values.
4.  Requirements for Maintenance and utilizing AAADM (American Association of Automatic Manufacturers) Certified Field Technicians that provide sustainability for the life cycle cost of the building over time.
