Note: Our periodic weekday lunch & learn programs will be on Thursdays rather than Tuesdays for 2017 due to space scheduling requirements.
Understanding differential movement with clay masonry and concrete masonry can be challenging for the placement of expansion (EJs) and/or control joints (CJs). There will be discussion on the different types of movement masonry can experience and the different types of joints that are used for controlling movement in both clay and concrete masonry. Banding of different materials in the same wall will be addressed. Participants will get a clear understanding of the usage of these movement joints as focus is placed on explaining a generic example of locating joints in a typical wall elevation.
