The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Michigan chapter is hosting a panel discussion on October 18, 2016, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at The Beacon at One Woodward on the significance of Detroit being a UNESCO-designated City of Design and its impact on the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry.

“SMPS Michigan represents many AEC firms that are currently involved in the evolution of Detroit. This event is a focus on our industry, where we’ve been and where we are going,” said SMPS Michigan president Jennifer Huebel.

Continuing the conversation that began during the recent Detroit Design Festival, the panel will feature local economic development and design professionals discussing what the designation means for Detroit, how it will influence development and what kind of impact it will have on architectural, site, planning and engineering design.

Panelists include:

“The panelists were selected based on their expertise, influence and the great projects that are happening in Detroit as a result of their collaborative efforts with a rich pool of developers, artists, architects and forward thinkers,” said Huebel.

Registration is open to anyone who is interested.  Cost to attend is $50.00 for SMPS members and $95.00 for nonmembers. For more information about the event, and to register, please visit: http://smps-mi.org
