Brews & Briefs: QBS

  • Wednesday, July 20, 2016

AIA National issued a brief supporting the use of Qualifications Based Selection (QBS) for procuring professional design services for public projects back in 2011, and urged state legislators to support the use of QBS in state projects as well. To date in Michigan we have limited application of QBS, and the AIA Michigan Government Affairs Committee is considering a more positive support for this approach.

Are you for QBS? Against it? Don’t have enough information to say one way or the other? We’d like to talk with YOU. Chuck Bultman and Kristen Nyht will hold a round table discussion on the topic at Bill’s Beer Garden, Wednesday July 20, from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. Look for the ‘private’ table just north of the bar under a structure west of the greenhouse.

RSVPs helpful but not necessary. It is BYOB (buy your own beer) so get in the drinks line first (if desired) then come find us. We look forward to talking with you!

A WARNING: it is Art Fair set-up today, so streets are closed and parking may be a little farther away than usual. Bring your patience and knowledge of hidden parking spots...
