Elements of Acoustics

Presenter: Alexander C. Mills,CTS, AIA-PA, Technology Architect, AVI Systems

A beautiful building with sweeping lines and panoramic views can exude a soaring emotional response.  So too can the acoustical signature of a space within that building – and the emotion can be either positive or negative.

As an architect, you partner with other experienced professionals such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural consultants in order to bring your vision to reality.  Like the other professional consultants enlisted on a project, an acoustical consultant can bring a perspective and an expertise that insures the emotional response continues to soar upward for years to come.

This presentation focuses on acoustical terms and concepts to help you partner effectively with audiovisual professionals.  The basis of the presentation comes from one of ICIA CTS‐D Design classes.
