Dave is currently consulting on two Living Building Challenge (LBC) http://living-future.org/lbc homes in Michigan and Minnesota that require 100% of energy, water, waste and storm water to be managed on site.
Dave is the Principal Designer at Stark Rainwater Harvesting based in Duluth, Minnesota. He holds a B.A. in Environmental Conservation from the University of Colorado and a M.S. in Water Resource Science from the University of Minnesota. He is an accredited professional (AP) and regional representative for the American Rainwater Catchment System Association (ARCSA) www.arcsa.org and served on the technical committee for the first national standard on rainwater harvesting (ARCSA/ASPE Standard 63).
Dave’s passion is working on integrated water resource management projects and partnering with progressive teams. He works on residential, industrial and commercial projects in the Upper Midwest, Central and South America. Dave has been instrumental in bringing rainwater harvesting projects from concept to completion with notable projects meeting net zero water standards and providing the first commercial systems to utilize captured and treated rainwater inside of structures in Duluth, Virginia and most recently at the Saints baseball stadium in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Dave preferentially drinks treated rainwater from a properly designed and maintained system.
He is a regional representative, accredited professional (AP) and instructor for the American Rainwater Collection System Association (ARCSA) and is a member of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE)/ARCSA technical committee for rainwater harvesting rules and has presented on rainwater harvesting in cold climates.
